Are you allowed to take photos in the Auckland Museum?
Visitors are welcome to use hand-held cameras with flash as well as video recording equipment for private purposes in the galleries unless otherwise indicated. Tripods are not allowed.

Auckland Museum protects and cares for nearly 200,000 human history objects in a collection that has been developed and cared for over more than 150 years. The collections cover Māori taonga, Pacific objects, military and social history, applied arts and design, and archaeology.

Do you need ID for the Museum?
Photographic identification may be required before entry to some exhibitions and events. Please keep your ticket as proof of entry. The Museum reserves the right to refuse entry to any visitor to the Museum, or any part thereof.
Can you take drinks into the Museum?
Food or drink are not allowed into the galleries, as they could attract pests that will damage our precious taonga. There are self-service lockers where you can leave bags with food while you explore the Museum.
