Can Reality Smasher be countered?
Whenever Reality Smasher becomes the target of a spell an opponent controls, counter that spell unless its controller discards a card.
Can reverberate counter a counterspell?
Could copy a counter with [[Reverberate]] and target the counterspell with your counterspell? Yes.
Can you counterspell nothing?
like can you play any counterspell without any spell on stack? You cannot. Any spell which targets must have a legal target to be cast.
Can you fork a counterspell?
You pass as well (all players passed in succession) and Counterspell counters Fork. Fork is put into it’s owner’s graveyard as it is countered. Counterspell is put into it’s owners graveyard as it resolves.
Can I cast a counterspell without target?
You cannot cast a counter spell without a target, but you can legally target an uncounterable spell with one.
Can a counterspell target itself?
No, it can’t. A spell is never a legal target for itself. You can’t redirect a target to an illegal target. The redirect spell redirects the counterspell to the redirect spell not the counterspell itself.
Can you target an Uncounterable spell?
The spell is still a legal target for counterspells, and other effects of those counterspells (in this case, Remand causing you to draw a card) will still happen.
What happens if I copy a counterspell?
8/15/2010: The copy will have the same targets as the spell it’s copying unless you choose new ones. You may change any number of the targets, including all of them or none of them. If, for one of the targets, you can’t choose a new legal target, then it remains unchanged (even if the current target is illegal).
Can deflecting SWAT make a counterspell target itself?
So, you cannot have Countspell target itself from Deflection. You can’t do that.
Can deflecting SWAT stop a counterspell?
Yes, you can select Redirect as the target of the counterspell.
Can you counterspell discontinuity?
While you can use Discontinuity as a weird extra-turn spell or defensively on your opponent’s turn as a strange counterspell, the real power of Discontinuity is casting it on your own turn for just two mana.
