The humble Osmiroid has a much longer ancestry than most fountain pens. It was made by EH Perry in the factory at Gosport. The idea behind the Osmiroid, perhaps not surprisingly, was much more about nibs than pens. Steel nibs in a variety of calligraphic styles were united with screw-in feeds.

Osmiroid is British company which was founded in 1918 by Edmund Perry. The company ceased trading in 1991. It is famed for making Osmiroid 65 and Osmiroid 75 pens in the mid-20th century. Today calligraphists and collectors search for and use these iconic pens and the nibs are much sought after.
